One of the great things about having a large family is that every get together feels like a party. The downside of this is that if multiple family members come into town at the same time, your house can end up feeling like a shoe box. That's my current situation as we usually only have 5 - 6 people living in our house but it's inflated to 14 people over the course of this week and will stay at that number for a couple of weeks. Let's just say we go through enough food in a day to feed a small army and bathroom usage in the morning has become quite strategic. It makes me thankful that I keep extra toiletries in my room so I can brush my teeth over the kitchen sink if needed!
All of the logistical nightmares aside, we really wouldn't have it any other way. Being spread out over the world means we don't get together like this very often so we really have to make the most of the little time we get to spend together. From here on out, it's really going to be the big life events (weddings, births, deaths, and milestone birthdays) that bring everyone together.
This weekend, we're invading Whistler and upon telling my boss our weekend plan she said, "I hope you're bringing booze to help you survive." Clearly she doesn't know my family very well =) It'll be a mostly technology free weekend (aside from the incessant Facebook postings) so hopefully you all have as much fun as we will!
